I am installing a new cam chain on my 2006 fe550e. I had to remove the rear (closest to the back tire) plastic guide so I could get the timing marks all lined up while pulling the chain tight on both sides.

With the new chain in place, I slid the plastic guide back in place and installed the guide and its single bolt at the top. The guide seems stiffer than it was and doesn't feel like it can swing freely. It may be because it's a new chain with very little slack - so it is already pushing against the guide, even without the tensioner installed.

Should I be concerned?
