edmdrs,

As tinbanger said, try BOSS. Husabutt has a nice picture in his gallery HERE of a BOSS set that are anodized.... sweet! Give him a call and im sure you will set you on the path to husa-enlightenment!

Regards,

Yes contact BOSS, If you are not in a hurry, there is an updated design in the works, stay tuned!

will the new design = same great taste but less filling? (read, more airflow? )

To answer Frog and Risky's questions. Yes they will still fit an 01 model. Air flow will remain the same. The main change is to the fit around the top of the guard and interference with the fork tube at full lock. Now my question, has air flow been a problem?

Hey Bendberg

I have a set of Rick's radiator gaurds on my bike and I haven't had a single problem with air flow/over heating. They definitely put the factory plastic pieces to shame!

Thank you Rufone, I designed that guard with better than average air flow and protection in mind.

Hey Bendberg

Any time, I only wish I had gotten them a little sooner. The big reason for getting them was from a mishap that I had. I came around a corner on a trail near where I live and there was a tree branch sticking out that knocked me off the bike and not only punctured my radiator but ruined it beyond repair. The stock plastic fins just bent out of the way as the tree branch passed through them. The second reason was the fact that they look cool as all hell!

Thanks
Don

A good thing would be for the new rad guard to accomodate a large fan, either the new model from the Husaberg.se store (since most of us do not have the slimmer tank) or even a large size CPU fan that packs a lot of CFMs.

120mm x 120mm x 25mm CPU fan with > 120 CFM :)

Rufone, I had learned the same thing on my last bike, large tree branch vs plastic, the tree branch wins every time! Frog, I am on the fence with fans mounted on the intake side of a radiator. The first issue would be durability of the fan as it packs with mud and water. the second being that the fan will only cool the area of the radiator directly behind the fan. The slots in our guard should offer plenty of mounting options if a person wanted to mount a fan there, but I am not interested in designing a guard specifically for that purpose at this time. Have you experimented with mounting a CPU fan behind the radiator yet? Using nylon nuts and bolts, one could carefully bolt the fan directly to the radiator(run the bolts thru the fins). Check it out and let me know. Are you having overheating issues, or just live in a warm climate?

There is not enough space behind the rad with the older tank unless you use 20mm fans and they don't pack enough CFMs.

Berger has two fans behind his BOSS rad guard and they seem to do some good work...

I stand corrected! If you need more room for the fans you want to run, I could be talked into a custom set. The main fix with the new guard, is fork clearance, and mounting fans behind them may become more difficult. Just curious, how well do the fans hold up in muddy/wet conditions?

I do not think they do very well in the mud, but CPU fans are expandable, as they cost usually a few dollars.

They do a good job in dry and hot (regular South West conditions) weather.

Berger could tell you more, I guess...
