I had an offer from my dealer.
a 06 FE 550, nearly new, with 300 km.

The price seems very good.

But there was some updates for the 07 modell.
I read this in other threads: bearing, suspension counterbalance...

Is it recommended to wait for a 07 model, or has the 06 enough durability?

make sure the dealer understands bergs ..

hand over the $$$$

change the oil , change the oil , change the oil .

you should be safe with the 06 version

my 06 Fe450e went 140 hours and is in great shape, now at the dealer for sale for $4999, very reliable the whole 14 months I owned it. I traded it in for a left over new 06 Fe550e and I expect it to be just as reliable.

06 is the better color scheme too!

it's not the value he gave to your old bike, it's not the cost per se of the new '06. it's the value of the '06 compared to others a year old and also the cost of a new '07.

get that equation right and it'll all be clearer.

yes the above post seems jibberish to me. His question was about duarability comparison of 06 vs 07, not "value"....and he never mentioned an "old bike".

oh dear wrong time of the month again!

big hand for the guy in the cheap seats everybody!!!!!

This is a typical phrase from taffy which I don´t understand.

My german english is not good enough.

Background:
Taffy knows a lot of my present bike.
I had constrained him for tips the last year: Keihin setting, suspension setting, and so on.

I have also discussed with my friends.
My old 501 is good enough for my riding. a lot of parts changed, permanently updates, in really good condition.
(except the fork, the e-start, permanently little problems...)
so many hours of screwing is connecting. And I love the 501 engine.

But now I have a good offer for a nearly new 550 2006.
And it seems so a good offer for my old 501 too!!!

After removal to my new home I have really less time for the bike.

So I need a bike for plug and play. only normal maintenance.

OK, I buy it to 90%, when the boy buys my 501.

New bike no cry!

And taffy can be happy too.

(Taffy: happy birthday and your money gets on the way today)

yup hard to know the off line facts from way up here in the cheap seats.

Congratulations and great looking carbon fiber plate and protectors! :D Too bad we can't get that equipment here in Amerika. :(
