Excessive noise recently started coming from clutch area.
Removed REKLUSE and refitted std clutch just so we could eliminate that as a suspect. No difference... still noisy.

Taking bike into dealer tomorrow but just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or can tell me what it could be.

Bike hasn't done too much work and has been looked after... as we do. Have only ever used Motorex Oil. Premium Fuel.

Very similar to cam bearing noise I had on my old 520.
But this is definitely coming from Clutch cover area.
Noticeable even with helmet on when riding.
Only really started yesterday...

You were absolutely SPOT ON.

Took the bike to WA Husaberg Dealer, Wanneroo Motorcycles, and that's what was wrong.

Crankshaft gear nut had come loose and flogged the keyway out as a result.

New keyway, locktight nut and new oil.... back VROOOMN.

Weird noise though... sounded really bad. I would have bet the engine had to come out for sure but only took a couple of hours all up.

Not a common prob but worth knowing about.

Cheers

Last year there was about 4 x 04 bikes I new of that had the same thing happen but we were all racing Motard, the nuts seemed to spin themselves loose with the rear wheel shudder, while backing in. Heap of locktite and a slipper clutch and had no problems since.

you sure joe? i think it's 80Nm for the flywheel end but i think it needs to be checked.

regards

Taffy

Joe is correct at 110nm,for the clutch side....as per the 05 service manual torque table and also on the recall notice.....nsman

Taffy,

I forgot to add, that you SHOULD use a 800.29.004.000 Gear Segment, or equivelant, Tool for locking up the gears on the two shafts and the clutch when torquing those nuts. See section E9 of the 04/05 repair Manual.

Thats a lot of torque 110 Nm (81 FT LB), and nasty accidents can happen!

Regards,

Joe

Hello ,

I had the same problem on my 2004 with abot 60hours,very loud noise and it was indeed the nut was caming loose.

Retight it and no problem ever since.
