:D thought all bergs needed a special fill spout to get oil into them,
but while getting one ready to go today i noticed they have relocated
filler so you could use a gallon jug to fill with nice

Just where is the filler cap? I own a 96.

By Factory Update, do you mean that previous '05 model bikes with the inconvenient filler cap location are getting this change retrofitted? Or is it just new 05 bikes that are affected?

Wildbill: The filler is located on the left right under the header pipe, there is maybe half an inch of clearance between the two. I have to decant oil into a special kitchen measuring jug to get the oil in the darn hole...

As far as I know it was only the 2004 that had the badly placed horizontal filler hole. My 2003 had the slightly "leaned out" (understandable english?) hole and so do my new 2005.

filler hole placement

:D pardon me i meant 05 models.

not a warranty issue,just a cool revision!

On a 96 the filler cap is also under the header pipe and can be a pain unless you use a funnel with a long hose attached to get the full 1000cc of oil in. Then you have to tilt the bike to the right to do so. There is more clearance than what you have on your bike but it can still be harder than it should be. Oh but we have fun though  . Take care.

I have a 2004 FE550E and there is no problem with getting to the filler hole.

On the 2005's w/the "new" exhaust, it was/is a problem. But, in usualy Husaberg fashion, when Husaberg know's there is a problem, they fix it.

Well, how on earth could they design something like that in the first place?

Are the Austrians blind?? Judging by the colours of the KTMs, I'd say yes :)
