I recently bought an '04 650 and the valve adjustment procedure is not given in the owner's handbook, unlike the '03. Can anybody confirm that the procedure is the same as for the '03? I know the flywheel runs in oil on the '04 but can I take the cover off anyway (without draining the oil) in order to turn the engine over by hand and get TDC?
