plenty of people take the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" attitude.
i don't. my berg had a rocker bearing failure, and from then on, that motor suffered several other failures because metal shavings went through the motor, damaging other bearings. so here is my timeline
1 - rocker bearing fails, causing metal shaving to go right thru the motor. bike is under warranty. 'berg Oz will not pay for dismantling and flushing of motor.
2 - cam bearing failure maybe 20 engine hours later. of course these are located right under where the rocker bearing shved itself to pieces.
3 - Main bearings failed maybe 40 hours after.
basically i can reccommend getting new rocker and cam bearings because it is relatively cheap, and a common place or failure on the 'bergs. if you have been a bit lazy with your valve adjustments(ie have had the valves running tight) then rocker bearing failure will be more likely and i strongly advise you take this precaution.
the owners manual is over kill in most situations, but at 125 hours i think it is time for the above mentioned. splitting the cases to replace mains/CB bearings and rocker bearings again at 200hrs may be a good idea.
OR you can just run it til it blows, but i would advise against it, in light of the likely possibility of doing greater damage.
Have Fun
