02 Parts compatibility

I wonder what electrical parts from an 02 FC 550 would fit on an 01 FE 501e.

The gentleman who's parting out his bike has quite a lot left and I wonder if I could get that type of parts (ignition and starter) for keepsake in case something goes wrong in my bike.

The FC's don't have a lighting coil. I do not think that many parts would be of use to you. If your wallet is burning a hole in your pants give the 04/05 550/650 starter and bracket a try :wink:

I know and I will eventually do the starter upgrade (heck, maybe my bike will e-start cold all the time with it :twisted: ) but I wanted to get cheap spare parts for my bike.

If I look at the 02 parts manual, page 42, it shows that the FC indeed as ignition coil and a stator that is compatible with the Fe of that year. My question is: it is backward compatible.

In this case it's an 02 with low hours. I am just trying to get some spare parts for the future, that's all.

FC's do have the lighting coils.As far as I know all of the SEM's have lighting coils. For sure 01-03 do.

yes the stators on all 2001 husabergs have lighting coils.o your 501 probably the coil would also work better or worse only way to know is to try it.dan.
