anyone have any data or opinion as to how restrictive this muffer/spark arrester is? would an after market Big Gun provide any improvement in power or have any thermal bennefits

Unless your running closed course it shouldnt even be a consideration. With the current public consensus for making bikes quieter and the need for running a spark arrestor on all public lands, I dont see how it would be worth the investment. There are only about 1% of the riders who can utilize all the horsepower there bikes make. The 2 or 3 extra horses really dont seem to be worth it with all else considered.
It's just my opinion and of course, as always, I could be wrong

I have a Big Gun and its comming off this weekend and returning to stock. It is horribly loud. As Berger stated it is not worth it. For closed course it would be fine but for plain old trailriding forget it.

the stock exh is quite restrictve compared to a husaberg fc open exh.big gun has recently come out with an exh called the quiet series and it is not loud.you can remove the quiet core in minutes and have a more open exh if decibles is not an issue.it comes with a spark arrestor as well and it is reasonably priced.it is about 1.5 pounds lighter than stock.we have one in stock if you want one .dan.

can i just repeat that i have fitted a FC/FX tailpipe here in the UK and the pipe looks identical to the standard FE tailpipe bar the exit hole which is 35mm instead of the FE's 25mm.

i expected a right din but infact it makes NO MORE NOISE AT ALL than the FE pipe.

maybe someone has done this before but i ask this question?
if you remove the rear rivets and remove the end cap from the FE can you buy a FC/FX rear cap and just slot it on?

this would keep your coding etc on the pipe and make it legal for the cost of peanuts. bet dale knows....

The parts guide lists the different end caps and their part numbers.
