I got to say I stil can't get that bike to start properly. The problem must be in carburettor, cause I know my kick is fine, but hard kick won't start it, choke on or off, playing with gas or not. after long time, it will and then after this it will start all day long, even next day I guess.
I got a Dellorto phm40 on it:
Main jet 195
Needle jet 272dr
Pilot jet 34
Choke jet 40
Needle K51, in the second hole reading from down.
I changed the float level, I wanted to make it Overflow, so I bended the floatarms to a higher level and they are even with eachother, then I saw the sparkplug was wet after kicking, so I bended them a bit back more near to a normal position I guess, but it still seems, after a week it doesn't get the fuel on or something is a problem, if I would tkae the carburettor and turn it upsidedown and then kick the bike ,it would start, pretty sure...
I read somewhere that you can regulate the choke? that is it too lean or too much, if it's possible then where from?
Sparkplug is new
When riding, no problems at all....
If there are any suggestions, I would again be thankful for you.

here is some personal 1st hand information.
the dellorto carb choke works perfect on an atk but not a husaberg.
the atk has an adjustable choke system, the berg does not.
with the atk, too much choke or not enough choke, it will not start, just like a berg.
but set the choke to the middle and it fires up instantly.
you can also mimic this by adding a ton of freeplay in the berg choke cable, almost.
then with one hand open the choke almost all the way, with the other hand hit the button, with the other hand work the throttle.
or get an adjustable choke like atk.

is this for real or are you just saying this to see if anyone is reading the post?
if its for real, then thats wrong and [insert personal slam here]
if its a joke, job well done.

here a older post viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11351&p=96286&hilit=atk+choke#p96286

Re: That whining '02 FE

whats wrong about bending the floater arms, with older carbs it's usual changing the float level, wanted to make sure it gets fuel on, because it just won't pull up enaugh fuel .
I see about the regulatable cable now...

firstly, you are menat to have a 190MJ in that carb. you also need a 33PJ not a 34. you need the needle on clip 3 and not 2 which would make it richer. the choke jet supplied is a 45 - always but I convert the carbs to 40s so I agree with you there.

these carbs are getting to the age now where they need a new float valve as the internal spring is so weak. not cheap at £30+.

don't play with the float arms, get them straight, level and true and closing the float valve at the right level and then leave well alone.

Tuts is right, the dell orto would love a half-way position. in fact you can have one! all you have to do is take the steel neck that the choke knob protrudes from and file out a 'shelf' half way between fully open and fully closed.

Once I asked help here already, then I was told about that 40" choke jet : ), thanks for this also
I thought or it seemed more likely that it won't get fuel on, but I see now that the choke gives too much ...Yes that advice to make choke work half way on is great, I'll try that. Also I change that jetting inside that carb if it still won't start without them and making the float level back to the normal position.
Which of these jets, the main jet or pilot jet influences the starting of the bike if knows?
