Hi All! first post here. Looks like a good informative site so far...

I just picked up an 01 FC 470, and would like to install an auto-clutch. I just got rid of my KTM 300 EXC with a rekluse, and seemed to have forgoten to how to use my left hand.

thanks

Aaron

i had one on both my 98 400's (same one goes on your 01) and just put one on my 04 450. i think they really help me get over the senile disconnect between the left hand and the brain. and with my mostly worn out rear tire brake sliding into turns, it doesn't stall everytime. call boss, he'll fix you up.

is western australia the new arizona?

the centre of husaberg heaven?

regards

Taffy

Hi Sweeper,
If you want a Rekluse for your Berg call me on 02 47311173 and I can hook you up. We are the Australian Distributor for Rekluse and will be able to help you with tech info if needed and warranty if that issue were to ever arise.
Best Regards
Sutto

Yup. Washington U S of A.

sorry 'bout that.:D

Any-who, I called Boss, he has the hook up.

What info were you looking for? I've got one on my 01 FX470e. I also run the LHRB too.

BTW-- If your 470 isn't legal you should check out that street-legal frame on ebay if you're in WA. No connection to it, but a simple swap for your parts and you just added value to you're bike pretty easily, plus you're a legal dualsport.

There's a Rekluse on ebay now for $300 too. It never fails that all the stuff I buy ends up there a couple months later for so much less. :(

sucker has been got!

Thanks for the tip Marinero and Ned!

This site now officially rules! :headbang:

Right on! Now go LHRB with your old clutch master cylinder for cheap. Have a brake line made up with the Magura fitting on one end and a banjo on the other. I have measurements if you need them.

Where are you in WA? We need more Bergs in our riding group.

Shelton. About 40 minutes from you. I am a member of the Puget Sound Enduro Riders club BTW, so I have "access" 8) to most of mason counties trail network.

right now everything is closed for fire season, but fall is coming fast...

So, this last Saturday I decided to toss the rekluse in my bike. While taking off the clutch cover, I discovered that the previous owner had applied silicone to both sides of the gasket, resulting in it being torn to shreds when removed. This being a holiday weekend for us, there was no way I could have gotten replacement parts right away. Anyways, I finished the install, and parked the bike while I waited for Tuesday so I could order the new gaskets. Tuesday morning I call up BOSS, and order the parts, (I also learned about an o-ring that had been previously installed wrong. Thanks Rick!) and set to wait out the shipping. I fully expected to wait for 3-4 days, but to my surprise, the next day the box was sitting on my porch when I got home from work! About 1 hour later, I have the bike together again. And I start kicking the starter over. And over. And over. For about 35 straight minutes, then out of nowhere, it fires up.
So I let it warm up for a few minutes to get the new oil good and hot over the new clutch parts. I pointed the bike away from anything that I care about and stepped on the gear lever. It gave a small rock forward about an inch and just sat there waiting for me to give it some gas. So i gave it some. Off I went! Man do I love this auto clutch! Right off the bat, I am totally happy with it! I rode around the yard for about an hour and it just got better as it broke in. The clutch engages just barely off idle, and hooks up hard at about 1/8th throttle. Hardly any slip at all. It disengages when I lock up the rear, and is instantly back when I let up on the brake.

When I got this bike, I was looking for something much smaller, like an XC-F 250 KTM, but a guy asked me if I wanted to trade straight across for my 300 EXC. I was pretty skeptical about getting a big bore 4-stroke. I did not want the weight, certainly did not want the hard starting issues, but now I am extremely happy with the trade! I love this bike! Now I just have to wait for the rain to come back so the trails open back up, and I can get it out into some single-track!

Sorry for the long winded post, I am just excited about the new bike! :toothy8:

Sweeper,
How good are they! Its like having a little guy using the clutch for you that knows exactly when to do it right!
After selling these things for a long time here in Australia it's so good to hearing someone who loves them as much as we do. My salesman had one in his last demo 450 and picked up 10sec a kilometer and now I cant shake him off my tail through tight trails.....don't know if he deserves one in the new bike, come to think of it? LOL.

Sutto

Sutto,

I agree with you, dont put one on his new bike. You are the boss and he is the salesman. He belongs behind you. Fitting a Rekluse on his bike only makes blokes like me look bad!!

Regards,
Ozberg

P.S. Sorry Daniel. You are the best salesman ever :D

I searched, but am still in need of help so I hope I'm posting in the appropriate location. I'm trying to figure out how to setup a LHRB. I've a new FE390 and am installing a Rekluse z-start pro this week. I'm sold on the idea of having a LHRB for all the trail riding I do. I haven't really ridden much with the auto clutch yet so not sure about getting rid of the manual clutch entirely. It does seems like most of you generally abandon the manual clutch. I suppose I probably will too eventually and just bite the bullet for the LHRB only.

Does anyone have both OEM clutch and LHRB? I've heard of people doing it, for a ridiculous price, but haven't actually found any information on how or actual costs involved. I'd be curious to have feedback on having both.

Can anyone point me to more specifics on how to convert the OEM clutch levet / Magura and make it into a LHRB? I've seen lots of posts about converting, but I don't know what all parts I need to order or where to get them. Can I still keep the foot brake and the LHRB or is that only if I drop $$$ for the Rekluse LHRB? Other options? Thanks in advance.

I think your best bet is to bite the bullet and get the Rekluse LHRB. It's not that expensive in the grand scheme of things and it works well.
