Will it fit without welding/fabrication? What parts would have to change - ie exhaust headers?

I'm new to the Husaberg world and I'm trying to figure out the most cost effective way to get the bike running. I've tried searching but have struck out with finding the correct search terms....

Thanks,
Brian

I can't see any reason why not. THe left case half is the same from '97 to '00 for E start engines, so the mount points ought to be identical.
The 600 is a nice engine and except for the taller cylinder nearly all other mechanical parts are interchangable between it and the 501.

Finally getting around to putting this thing together and I've identified a few areas I need advice on...

1. Any problem running the '97 4 wire coil instead of the '00 6 wire coil (hi/lo switchable?)? I will need to fabricate an adapter plate to mount the '00 coil and I'm lazy.

2. The '00 FX engine does not have a vacuum port in the intake tract for the vacuum operated fuel pump..... Anybody had any luck drilling/tapping for a port WITHOUT removing the head?

3. What's the recommended jetting for the FX600 using the stock Del Orto carb with stock exhaust/clamp on Sparky?

Thanks,
Brian

Head on, head off... I don't see much difference unless you are careless enough to allow metal chips to fall into the intake tract. Don't rely on just a rag in the inlet to stop the metal chips 'cause when the drill bit penetrates to the inside it can spin the rag and throw the chips into the head. But I'm sure you already knew that.
I drilled and tapped a '00 head with a fitting for the pump on my '98 FX600 and it works fine.
