Hey all you FS 570 owner out there, I decided to cut a hole in my seat over my filter, which I use a DNA filter, after reading it helps make more horsepower, what a difference in power the bike makes it pulls so much harder now, since it can breathe, plus I just put a new muffler on it with no restrictions, made by Barrett Products in Austraila, which help it to. My suggestion to all you out there, do it if you can, you will like the results. :):):):):):):):):):)

Seat Picture

Here is a pic of the hole in my seat and I have no issues with riding with it, but my suggestion it's not designed to be used in the rain, unless you cover it with Gortex somehow.

I got a DNA filter and put the bike on the dyno with or without seat...
Made no difference what so ever in hp???
So I did not cut a hole in my seat...
I did cut the edges from the tank shrouds
My fs570 is tuned by fp engineering (cylinder head+custom ecu map) +full fmf system and it makes 63 hp on the wheel:cool:

Filter

I didn't buy the DNA filter to get more performance, but to get rid of that stupid foam filter I always got to clean and the seat hole was the reason for me give my bike more horsepower, which I have read when they have dynoed my bike without the seat it made more horsepower and also read that when people put on a new whole aftermarket exhuast with the seat on and dynoed, it didn't make anymore horsepower than stock.

You mis understood what I meant;)
My bike was on the dyno first completely stock only fmf pipe 4.1 factory (stock header) + cut radiator shrouds+akra mapping in the ecu.
Bike made 56 hp on the wheel.

Than in winter I send my cylinderhead+ecu to fp engineering to get it flowed + custom map that runs higher revs....
I also installed the dna filter than and fmf megabomb header...
With this setup the bike made 63 hp on the wheel and I asked them to make a run with the seat of because I was also wondering to cut a hole in it for power gains....
The runs was the same with or without the seat???

Since the tuning the bike lost a little torque and power is a little less up to 5-6000rpm compared to before but after 6000rpm it's faster and keeps making power all the way to 9000+rpm and still has plenty torque to pop wheely's even in 4th gear without revving the **** out of it:spin:

Thanks

Just to let you know, though I haven't had my bike dynoed yet, after I cut hole in the seat and had put on my new muffler, I felt immediate power gain in the bike all the way through and maybe I could be wrong, on cutting a hole in my seat, but the way the bike's power feels now, I have a hard time not believing it. Also, I've been told by the previous owner that bike has already been remapped too, but to be on the safe side I might get it done again anyway.

Looks like a good mod but the problem i have is that i ride mine everyday on the street and worry about water getting into the airbox.

Dilemma

I don't ride it all the time and not in the rain, so that's why I did it, but I can see your problem, my suggestion is try to make a special cover for it thats made of Gortex, which still allows it to still breathe, if you decide to do it.

What's your gearing? Mine is also made by Peter (ported head, 46TB, modded but stock ecu). It pulls a wheely in 4th but only with help:furious:

Ask Peter Forster what he thinks of the DNA airfilter...ITS ****! (with full on german acccent and a slight touch of a mad man, got to love this guy :D)

Yep I asked him about a few things... And I know about tha DNA thing ;)
But just come to my mind TomTom that you didn't write what gearing yoi ride or am I missed?

Sorry I still dont know for sure, 45 rear but front?? I said Id check but obviously didnt, it wont wheelie in fourth unless I provoke it.
Its quite tall geared, never ever reach sixth gear, which is the purpose.

Why is dna ****? And what is to prefer? (on ice some go without filter)

It was mostly an anecdote I found funny speaking to him, I have no idea, never seen an dna filter in real life and never tested one. I use a stock filter unoiled for ice and the same with oil in for else. No filter is not a good idea as something may shake loose and enter the engine.

14/43 with sumo wheels my new chainset is gonna be 14/44 or 15/44 it does need some help of the suspension/pulling bars but with 14 in front I can even get it up in 5th but good timing/jumping on pegs to compres suspension before lift is necessary:p

DNA and K&N filters are great they last for years (30 years so far on a K&N) foam with age turn to sand. So why is the German against them??? In 30 years try and find a foam filter for Your bike if you can!

Likely a performance issue considering what he does.
