when getting bored due to ice and snow, and hardly any riding, you start trying things..

Next month, I need to bring 4 liters of water, 2 in de camelbak and 2 on the bike on my next rally in marocco. I decided to just drill a hole in the subframe. The subframe seems to be watertight, becouse the water stays in. A small tube fits in to get the water out, so voila, i have my waterreserve on the bike!

a small rubber cap wil close it, but for now a golftee with a rubberband does the job.

(and yes, 3 minutes after drilling the hole I also realised the lowest point is on the other side, so that would have been smarter)

I want to do the same on my 390, we need to think in another hole for flushing the old water.
Are you planning to put a hose inside like a camelback?

yes, i made the hole slightly bigger (9mm) to fit a fuelline. My subrame had 2 similar holes close to where the battery is, you find them after de-mounting the subframe These are 9 mm also.. Furthemore there was a leak at 2 of the lowest points, whete the frame bolts go through. I solved that with a 2 component tank sealer, and bought a few plastic plugs, for the 2 holes near the battery and the whole for the fule ( water) line. You could also use a complete camelbak waterline, easier to drink, but i only use it for an emergency so i dont need that. i carry a 3 cm 8mm fuelline
that i insert when needed. Wil be tested in the maroccan desert starting monday 14 march, nect week.
