...what would you have as an alternative to a clapped out FE501 road legal. Jump on & go - on & off road.

I am currently checking these out as a 09 Berg cannot be made street legal in Cali.
 
WR250F is my choice, bought an 03 a couple of weeks ago. Cracking little bike off road, light and plenty of power once a few easy free mods have been done. Will sit a 60mph all day on the road and will do over 80 on standard gearing if you wish.
Best part is electric start which works every time hot or cold.
If money was no object then a 09 Berg would be my dream but £6000 is just too much for me.
Took the WR off road for the 1st time yesterday and performed well, very impressed.
 
XR750 and race at the springfield mile!

Not real good for wheelies but would go like powers of pi$$. I too, am glad I own me bergs :wink:

I'd probably have a street-legal 200xcw, and dr650, and an old beater 250sx, and brand new kx250 for desert racing.
