ok don't throw coins or hand clap this is from the doc and someone else did all the collating.

right, i have a few numbers missing so i want your help finding stuff out ok?

the needle rollers in the clutch?

the cam follower bearings? can they be bought and the pins machined?

the valves? where can we source cheaper and quite frankly - BETTER - valves at say 35 and 37mm especially? tell me more popup/weed?

the big end bearing. is it not the rollers knicked from inside a standard roller bearing? what do we THINK we know?

do we still have a bearing expert in the house?

bearing behind the waterpump that is specially sealed? what do we call that and can we code it?

clutch pressure plate bearing - code?

i think that somewhere even the wheel bearing codes have gone for the large and small spindles. anyone got the codes? seals as well?

caged rollers in the gearbox (in the gears)? anyone?

i can get dimensions to anyone who will check these out.

regards

Taffy

RE: Re: bearing cross reference

yeh cheers keith i noticed i had dup[licate information so some of it got turfed out. didn't mean to take away your acknowledgement but i couldn't see what was to whom so....

ausberg
so what are you saying..... say it man say it! 7.8 or 8mm?

Taffy

RE: Re: bearing cross reference

Taffy, I have just knocked the pin out of my 05 rocker, and it measures 7.6mm. It came out easily.

Is there a part # for this roller and bearings?

RE: Re: bearing cross reference

yes and it's in the oarts book!

how did i get to 7.8mm? has it always been 7.6mm? if so the doc is a worthless peice of junk that nobody reads coz nobody else has mentioned it.

If your dealer can't help you you might try www.ktmworld.com/

complete roller assembly 59036061090 $29.11 US in 02 list

roller 59036061091 $17.87 US in 08 list

bolt (axle) 78036061092 $5.59 US in 08 list

I don't know if the 08 parts will fit the 03 and up Bergs.

Remember the 02 and older Bergs used the 7.963 mm dia. axle if I recall correctly!

RE: Re: RE: bearing cross reference

Hi All, can anyone help out with the starter clutch bearing cross reference number for a 06 FE550? will no turn over (spins) when cold but engages when hot. Figure its the starter clutch one way bearing, would like to get the bearing before I pull it apart....
Thanks for your help!

RE: Re: RE: bearing cross reference

i may be wrong but because it isn't a bearing it isn't something we can cross reference. all we know is that it's alleged that it fits ducatis as well.

regards

Taffy

RE: Re: RE: bearing cross reference

Thanks to JoUSA and Ausberg,
The complete roller assembly 59036061090 is listed as a replacement to fit rocker arms 590.36.060.144 inlet and
590.36.061.144 exhaust rocker arms, as used 05 bergs
found on the link in joeUSA`s post above web under 2002 520 EXE.

Cheers spanner.

http://www.jawa.cz/catalogues.html

file engine 889 10 208; big end bearings of same dimensions as ours and 35mm big end pins available in 3 kinds of oversizes, ends, middle and allover 19 euros

the big end bearing PN is 324 588 912 507 pcs Needle retainer 35,88 €

also some good info in there on crankpin/crank interference fits, they use right up to 6.7 thou for their 500 engine.

also similar big end bearings used in some KTMS nominal width is speced as 20mm but perhaps it is really 19.7 to 19.8

lots of other important engine building data in here www.pro-x.com/downloads/technical.pdf including 35x42x20mm big end roller bearings

RE: Re: RE: bearing cross reference

i noted a remarkably similar looking cam chain tensioner blade as well! some of the info is slightly worrying....they call the 250 four stroke a "2T"!!!

be more specific bushie about where you see this stuff could you?

Taffy

RE: Re: RE: bearing cross reference

you mean the oversized pins?

clik on the jawa price list tab and downlaod the 2009 pdf

(right clcik on the link and choose "save target as")

RE: Re: RE: bearing cross reference

i'm visiting the british importer on saturday bushie. having just called him, they do GM pins that are hollow. the jawa ones aren't and would affect your balance. the GM ones start at 34.96mm and go up .08mm oversize which is 3 thou in old money. so they start 1 thou under and end up 2 over 35mm.

the pins jawa do can be over size all along, on just the ends or in just the middle. clever stuff!!!!

the jawa pins are 75mm long and of course you have the oiling problem as well.

RE: Re: RE: bearing cross reference

sneaky pete, do I need to know anything else that might save me a couple of Gs?

good work on the pins taffy

my "35mm" pins measured 34.991mm or 1.3776 inches

the jawa interference fit of 6.7 thou and a 12mm longer solid pin wih main bearings butted up against the flywheels should tell us something about husaberg crank flex.

I think you could still use a jawa pin if you had one, grind it down from the end opposite the oil galleries. who knows perhaps the big end oil feed isn't as restricted as the husaberg. balance is still wrong.

the oversize hollow GM pins sound better though, just need to refinish the ID of the rod to the corresponding size

which presents perhaps the real problem in that the OD of the bearing cage needs to be 41.92mm - 41.95mm running in the 42mm ID of the rod. any more slop between the cage and the rod is not ideal. so borrowing the idea from Jawa you could polish the centre of the pin down a couple of thou.

I just need a bearing ATM but 2 more rebuilds I'll need an oversize pin.

so KTM wants us to buy a $500 rod kit to get a new $40 bearing and a new $1000 crank if we need an $50 oversize pin :(

RE: Re: RE: bearing cross reference

there's a company in germany that do exchange reconditioned cranks for 650 husabergs and i've wondered for sometime how come they could afford to do it at such a good price but if you take one thou out of the ID of the rod cleaning it up and then use a one thou oversize pin with the same bearing, new little end bush = you're away!

BTW, someone last week got a little end bush for £6 made up and i'll be buggered if i can remember who that was? an englishman that's all i can recall.

Taffy

ok ok ill tell you, I bought (waiting for it to be delivered from italy) a machine tool for precistion grinding of rods...good eh. Ahh worldwide ebay rules!!

I am making me own pins too!
