Every time I see the new Bud Light commercials where the guys go around saying "Dude", I am reminded of the aftermath of the Great Bobzilla Chili Feed.

The morning after, I grabbed a towel, and innocently headed off to the bathhouse for a nice hot shower to knock the edge off my slight hangover.

I went in, and I couldn't believe what my eyes and nose were telling me.

I walked slowly back to my trailer, shaking my head, "Dude!"

I do not recall the exact number from the last force ride, I want to say 45+ guests. Ossaman would be the one who knows.

The answer is: 73 paid

You should consider Colorado. I moved here in 1982 from Minnesota and never left.In my opinion there is no better single track or two track in the world. And I have had the pleasure of racing all over Europe,South Africa, Australia, Canada and at least 40 of the states. The lowest spot is Gunnison at 7700 and goes to 14,000. Much like Moab as far as accomodations.I can't say enough about the great riding here. In 1990 we had a 175 mile National Enduro! The Colorado 500,1000,Thor ride and just about the whole United States comes her in the summer. When I first moved here my goal was to learn all the trails,I gave up about 10 years ago! Thats my two cents worth! I'll be in Moab sunday, monday and tuesday for the Tucker Rocky ride and Will get to ride my 08 550 for the first time! I've only ever rode a 450 and I'm scared!!!!
FRITZ

So Fritz are you offering to help host???? you got the inside line on that area fo sho
March too early?? Months?? The Euro guys like it early but we westerners know about the snow

ron and later ron are sorting some ideas out but it's a secret!

fritz
we have been looking for solid camping/hotel details????

regards

Taffy

No problem being the host I've guided up here for almost 25 years. Pretty much all locals have bikes and love to ride, so guides would be plentiful.July to mid Sept. will be when will probably have full access to all terrain.Plenty of hotels and camp grounds.Major ski area.
Best / Safest airport in the Rockies.
Fritz

thursday 3rd to sunday 6th september or add 7?

ron has talked of silverton earlier in the year fritz? apparently it's a bit lower and would make more time available?

regards

Taffy

apparently it's a bit lower
referring to silverton? the silverton i remember is at over 9000 ft.
i say we all stay with cheeseberger at his lush digs 8O

I am afraid that cheeseberger would gas us all out. The morning would find us all looking like one of those crazy cults that commited mass suicide. lol

Silverton is awesome, There would be no problem staying in Ouray and doing loops out of there, I've done it many times. The views will blow you away!

Ouray work for the damm foriners?? yeah you too Froggy :D Might have a hard time getting the Canuks down that time of year .... their best ridding season I think but Yeah Colorado got some GREAT riding and views....... They actually LIKE of roaders!!!!!!

Gunnison sounds like it has real possibilities. Are the trails well-mapped and signed? Is there sufficient terrain for intermediate riders? Are the trails easy to reach from town like in Moab?

It's not as convenient as Bend, but then I've never ridden in Gunnison, so it would be an adventure for us. We'd probably drive the little car and stay in a hotel or cabin rather than drag an rv out there.

That gas coming out of me at Moab was nothing. Here at altitude in lovely Crested Butte it is much better, more fun, and it smells like Wildflowers, as I am sure everybody knows this is the wildflower capital of Colorado. As I have said before, the riding here is awesome. I ride from my door and am on single track in less than 3 miles and can be at 13000 feet in no time. My Husqvarna friend Conan, he was in Moab, has a pretty good size house and deck and offered to host a barbecue or whatever. There is a General Store, Gas, Liquor Store, Tavern, Mexican Restaurant, and a daycare all right here in Crested Butte South where I live, AKA Cement Creek. There is lots of free camping and I think 6 guest cabins called Pioneer Guest Cabins. I think they might be a bit pricey though. Jeep roads, single track, double track, and a jaunt to Aspen, its all here, I dont have to leave my little neighborhood.

that thing you parked behind our cabin at moab was an rv?

No, we took the cheap way there since I had just moved and bought a house the month before. I have a grownup camp trailer that I take on local trips. I used to take it to moab for 3-day weekends, but it's not reasonable to do that anymore.
