Hello All,
I have a few questions about my 2006 FE 450. I have it set up in full street gear right now. I had no idea how much fun a dirt bike with a street set up could be. I look for any excuse possible to hop on her and ride. If anyone is in the Portland Or area with a street set up I highly recommend the Washougal river road. Take it to the salmon falls road. Then go down to highway 14 and up the Columbia river Gorge.

?1. Why do I have so much trouble finding neutral? Am I missing something? The Japanese bikes are all I have to base my Knowledge on. I bought the bike from a private party so I may have missed some instruction.
If the proper method is between 0 and first gear I find it nearly impossible to find neutral at times.

?2. When street riding how many miles between oil changes?

Thanks this site is awesome. I love my Husaberg more than any other toy in the garage.

The elusive neutral is a normal Husaberg phenomenon. It can be found while the engine is running but it takes patience and practice. With the engine shut off it is as easy to find as on any other bike. This "feature" was perhaps engineered in or is a by product but none the less it may help with hitting neutral during normal shifting.

the inner clutch drum used to get slotted badly on the pre '03s. not sure about that now. i have helped a coupla people by saying "look, check each plate for discolouration/blueing and if you have it you had a high point."

any doubts....new plates mate!

I had the same problem finding neutral on my 07 FE450. I found neutral much easier to find while the bike was still in motion, ie rolling to a stop. If you are already stopped and want to find neutral try going up to second then a quick light tap on the gear lever and you should / could find neutral easier, there is an art to it.
Cheers.

Hi there.
All Husabergs have this "problem" the tight neutral position is no problem.
Just put it in first gear and pull lightly up towards neutral and blip the throttle. Magic happens and neutral exists.

I hope this was it and your clutch is fine.

I used to have problems selecting neutral as well. I do the same as Rocky. From second whilst coming to a stop.
Will try Magnusson's suggestion though and see how that goes.
