Anyone know if any of the newer style tank/shrouds fit on a 2002 Fe501e ? maybe even switch a seat to, or is there anyway to make this work ?
 
direct switch no changes needed..

although the new shrouds 06/07 will only fit the new tank 06/07. but they will both fit your frame and radiator. the 00-05 tank and shrouds are all interchangeable.
 
Alright, so if i got a 06 Tank and Shrouds if should fit on the 02 frame ? 8O SWEET !

Exception being the Clarke desert tank, which requires an updated kick lever.
 
I have a feeling that the kick starter has to be shorten the new kickstarter sits pretty
tight against the the tank

Viking: with the 01-03 you mean?

I guess a bit of machining, but I can't tell.
 
with my clarke tank, i just put a piece of hose on the kicker as a bumper and just let it rub. no problem.
 
So, Could i just get a stock 06-07 tank and shrouds or do i have to get a Clarke tank + 06-07 Shrouds :? Or would it be more cost efficient just to get a Clarke ?
 
What did mean to say is that the new kicksterter is very close to the new tank there
is about 1/4" clearance betwen kickstarter and tank thats on my 07
I know that Bobzilla shorten his kickstarter with good result

The new kick started is shorter there fore is not close to the tank, if you put the new tank on a bike with the longer kick started it might rub. (i think) thats how it goes

If I remember right you cant use shrouds with the clarke tank...but I've riding all day and things are starting to get fuzzy :roll: What I mean is tha clarke tank has built in shrouds.
