I am really itching for a new bike I can plate for Washington state, and since the MSO for the Husaburgs dont state off road only I was interested in a few a dealer had close to me. How are the prices on these bikes, they all seem steep to me but I wanted some of your guys opinions.

How much of a beast are the 550s? Will they do single track ok? BTW, For refrence, I ride a CR 500.

Also, one is listed as a FE550 Enduro, and the other as FE550E, both the same year. Whats the difference?

Lastly, they also have a few 05 KTM 525 MXCs for 5990. I tried to talk them down on it but they wont budge. Anyone have any tactics I could use to talk them down on any of the bikes?

the 550 e and the fe 550 are the same , if you ride a CR500R you will enjoy the FE 550E .

I rode and raced a KX500 for three years. I've had the Husaberg FE-550 for a year and a half now. You can go faster with 1/4 of the effort of your 500. The KTM 525 is heavier and slower than the FE-550 and has way more flywheel. Don't waste your time. The Husaberg is the way to go. :D

I think you may be too late on the 550's. I think Cheeseberger got the last one just last week. The 04 450 is still there but it is an FS.

Opps, I didnt notice it was an FS, thats the motard version right? I will have to call them up and see if they have a 550 left or not. If they do, are those decent prices?

Not bad on the prices. Of course someone will alway's tell you they did or can do better. I imagine the price is close to the original dealer cost.

I only get to post on these type threads as I my bike is so reliable(new) and I never fix my own bike anyways for good reason.

the FE550e is BITCHEN!!

Thanks for the info guys, I have one last question (for now anyway). Is there a dualsport kit made for this bike or would I have to patch one together?

Yes there is but the Husaberg is already wired for the lights so its cheaper to piece togeather. Talk to BOSS about what is needed. Where in WA do you live?

In Mead, just north of Spokane.

Berger was right, they dont have them anymore so i guess im out of luck. I guess I will try and talk them down on that KTM.

there's a dealer on the other side of the mountains. i live in kent and cycle works in renton always has used and new bikes. it may be worth a call or drive.

If you decide on a KTM, I would suggest the wider ratio 525 EXC. The EXC tranny ratios are a little closer spaced than the Berg ratios (especially 5th to 6th). The MXC gear ratios are much more closely spaced and not suitable for covering a wide range of riding conditions. For instance, if the MXC is geared down for woods riding, it quickly runs out of gears in desert riding and conversely when geared taller for higher speeds it becomes way too high geared for tight single track.

Ok guys, I dont think I will be able to get a Husaburg, :( but I hope you can help me out with a Husky question since I found two used 2006 TE 510s. One of them is in great shape and well taken care of, has about 26xx miles on it with an IMS 4.3 tank and a scotts stainless oil filter. 60% street, 40% dirt ridden. He modified an aftermarket seat but still has the stock seat foam and cover. Hes asking 5400 for it, good deal or try to talk him down? He is willing to meet me part way but the catch is he still owes money on it and doesn't have the title. What should I do?

Buy it! Buy it RIGHT NOW! It's a steal. The Huskys are great bikes. He probably only wants to sell it because he wants an FE650. Still, if it's in as good a condition as he says it is, it will probably serve you very well.
