looking at the design it looks like a slow flow into the tank .

Most likely it's to reduce fuel sloshing about under g force and upsetting the bike's balance and or starving the fuel flow to the carby. That's the theory anway. Racecars use foam and baffles for the same reason.

Looks to me like a good idea. I ride in the California desert and have problems with dust blowing in while refueling, this should stop it from getting into the gas tank.

Let us know whether you like it!

iit is a filter! not a baffel aparantly

the ebay description says that it is a "fuel filter" for filtering fuel, and to keep out dirt , dust, rust out! and it says that it only slows down the fuel filling speed by a little bit.
where as
my mate has described the "tank foam" as an "anti slosh" foam that you have to jam/poke in to your fuel tank and that it is not used for filtering.
but this profill filter is for filtering fuel as it gets pored in.

well I am going to buy one, looks like this is the only way to find out, I will tell people how it goes.

I take this back. Please file under useless replies.

Mia culpa.

just a quick post to say that I have now taken delivery of the ProFill tank filter.
just like the photos I fitted it, and used it yesterday for the first time.
I cant be bothered taking photos, just look at the other posting photo!
It didn't get in the way, and the fuel cap still screws on like normal...that was my fear!
but it worked fine.
I recommend this filter to anyone who wants to keep stuff out of your fuel tank/carbi

Husaberg fe 550 RULES!!!
too much bling bling is NEVER to much bling bling on a Husaberg!

I have one on the kitchen table. I guess I shoud install it ehhh? I was hoping to use it on the big tanks so I could remove the petcock screens thus granting me a access to a few more cups of fuel.

Huh what petcock screens? I added inline fuel filters last year after I ended up with a clogged carb, could not see any other type of filtering installed, but in our dry and dusty riding areas, I do not think there is anything as too much safety, unless the Profill thing really creates some kind of a lock.

I will check KTM Talk.
