Its looking very fine for our Husaberg buddies in Sweden this weekend:

http://live.abc-wec.com/

The factory team is 6/7/8 with Joakim, Bjorne then Valtteri.

This is a little detail of the event from Dan Watt

We're about to start day 1. Theres fresh snow on the ground but its not that cold out. Theres a lot of standing water in places so getting soaked will be inevitable. The only similarity to riding at home is that there is snow, other than that its deep ice ruts, and rough when the frost is broken though, oh and fast. Any way wish me luck.

Ok, just realized that the results above are after 8 tests, a ninth to come and then they will be official.

more later

Fry
looks like the husaberg boys are doing just fine, Ljungren is first Björne second and
to my surprise Vallteri third ( Fry you where correct about Vallteri)
looks like Anders Eriksson has regain his speed after his horrific crash
Merriman and Germain looks to be out of there element judging by times posted
cant wait for some vid clips

so long VIKING

Apparently there is 3 feet of snow on the level, a ton of high profile riders are dnfing simply because of the conditions, deep ruts and wet. Dylan Debel is having a good time, learning a lot and loving the 550 that he is riding. The Scandanavians are not taking names.

I would imagine there may be some wine drank around the berg pits on Sunday evening. Good luck to Dylan, Joakim, Bjorne, Valtteri, Daniel, Ricard and the rest of the berg riders.

Fry,

Did Watt get knocked out of the race at the beginning? I don't see his name in any of the tests?

There is no doubt that Valtterri "Bob" Salonen is a wicked rider. I can't wait for the WEC to return to Canada and the USA this year.

It is also great to see Joakim Ljunggren picking up where he left off last year and establishing himself as one of the fastest overall riders.

I wonder how Bjorne Carlsson feels about getting beat by his "student" Ljunggren. I remember Bjorne sayiing to us last summer that he had done too good a job of coaching Joakim!

Oh, I think that Bjorne is quite proud of his 'junior'. And Valtteri has returned to his 2005 form which earned him the factory ride in the first place. He is certainly on the gas as well.

Dan, our good friend, is having issues with the enviroment, and rode Sat with cold/frozen hands, something he suffers from here on cold trail rides. He finished the day way back, but from what I hear is unhurt, just rather chilled and not in that good of spirits. He'll be upset, him and Dylan are pretty close in speed, but its racing and sometimes that .... happens.

ps I like moosehead

4/6/7 overall for day 2! To ride a Husaberg in the snow is to know why, the bikes are amazing (having top nothc pilots helps too).

Regarding Bjorne, he is a class act and a great ambassadore of the brand. I too beleive that he is quite proud ofthe new generation of Husaberg riders.

Ok, and how about MIka Ohola, he seems to have found his old mojo again.

True story. Mika Ahola has been my favorite WEC racer for years. I am so glad to see him on the throttle again. I really hope that he wins the E2 and the O/A for 2007.

Day 2 was a harder day then previous day it got cold and snowed 8" that favored
the Finn´s and the Swed's and there was some trickery going on between riders since
nobody wanted to break trail, many south European where suffering from cramps
one swede did not understand why these riders don't train for snow riding we swedes
are always down there to practice
Ljunggren was the fastest of the husaberg riders fallowed by Carlsson and Vallteri
Ljunggren actually beat Salminen in overall time good job

That really sucks that things did not go well for Dan Watt. I was pretty excited that he and Dylan were both in Sweden for this opening WEC race. He is tough as nails and has a history of finishing all the ISDEs he enters, etc, so things must have gone really bad for him.

That being said, what a great way for Husaberg to start off the 2007 WEC season. Podium finishes by all 3 factory riders!!

- 1st place for Joakim Ljunggren in the EJ class.

- 2nd place for Bjorne Carlsson in E3 followed by Daniel Persson in 8th and Dylan Debel in 15th.

- 3rd place for Valterri Salonen in the E2 class followed by 7th for Ricard Wressel. Ricard is living in the USA with Dylan this year and has already had impressive results.

There are some great photos in the links posted in this thread. I really like seeing that No. 1 on Joakim's bike.

ALL 3 FACTORY RIDERS ENDED UP ON THE PODIUM LAST WEEK AT THE OPENING ROUND OF THE WORLD ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!! 8O 8O :D
