I am looking at a 200 Husaberg 501 FC, its very clean with 108 hrs on it, according the owner he has a log book of all oil changes and it has been meticulously maintained and he had something done to the stator/ignition that cost $400? I am coming off a 1994 Husqvarna 610 wxc and just want to know what to expect and about the maintenance as I have heard and read from this forum, it is quite a temperamental bike and requires a lot of attention. But also that the 2000 older style engine and oil pump were pretty good compared to 2001-02? Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated.

Read the doc and you should find info on it's weak points and be more aware of what you're getting into in that area. With that said I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The FC501 engines were good engines performance wise but obviously geared to the track and understand if it's an enduro or trial bike you desire that there are better trail bike options in the Husaberg lineup then an FC.

I rode 50 miles this past Wednesday in Moab with a guy from Colorado that has that exact same bike. Man, that thing ran great. I'm sure you could find a less expensive example of that bike, but considering that it has obviously been well taken care of, I'd say go for it.

Edit: Oops, I didn't catch the FC part. I was thinking it was an FE.

Oddly enough..

He said it was a six-speed which I am used to for trail riding, if it is the 4-speed, I will proabably pass, beaecause my track days are over, I like being ton the ground these days, but still like to get up in it on trails a desert.

GOT it!

It was like new, revalved suspension, oil changes, new ignition coil, this thing hauls as well, Great buy for 2k.
