hi guys i am very certain that all husaberg radiators have the same mountings and size, so a 2005 for an instance could fit a 1994 like mine.

can someone please verify?? i am in search of one as you can realise, mine is actually now about 80% made of sealant :D

OYK, if I am wrong someone will correct me, but I believe that when the current frame came to life, the radiator changed from two individual radiators to one large radiator. While the newer radiator may fit, some modification will be needed. Keep an eye on e-bay, there have been a few 90s Bergs getting parted out.

thanks for the reply bendberg, none husaberg had 2 radiators since they were born, they all have the same one but i am not sure for the mountings

go onto markts' gallery and his berg looks like it has two seperate rads.
thought the single rad only came about when they went to the new bodywrk etc in 2000 or whenever it was

The newer models (00-) have a one-piece radiator, the older models had a two-piece. I would be surprised if they were interchangeable.

Hi Oyk!
The manuals say Husaberg used the same radiator from 1989-1999.
Something changed for 2000-2003 and then again for 2004-2005. I'm guessing these changes were just the mounting points. You will want to locate the first series (89'-99') for the proper fit but with your skills, you may be able to make a later model work.

I can take pictures of my 05 if you like.

Information for the rest of you:
Husaberg has always fitted just one large radiator from the very beginning!
You should know better LeFrog! Don't state things as fact, when indeed, they are not.

Thanks,
Log

Guys, he owns one. He should know.

Attached is page 33 of the 89-96 parts manual, clearly showing that it's a one piece radiator.

thanks,
json

Oh yeah, my bad, I've looked at KTM parts sheets from KTMTalk.com lately and that's why I thought they had a different design back then. They look the same.

oh dear, and all this time i thought that my radiator was 1 piece

thanks for the replys guys, until 99 the radiators were black thats propably why the part number changed afterwards.

does newer radiators still have the 3 mounting points on the right like the old ones?

thanks for posting the pictures logjump, from what it seems mountings are the same so i will keep my eye on ebay to get one..

i might add a 220v cooling fan too..

I'm also looking for a repacement for a '89-'99 radiator. The one in the bike has a ripped-out-but-bogged-up core on the RHS. I've now got two others but one is pretty bashed up & the other is corroded inside. At this point I'm hoping the corroded one is still OK to use...

Oyk - Did you have any luck fitting a 2000 or later radiator into the earlier bike?

From the parts drawings they all look similar, but both the top and bottom tanks have a step in the centre on the later models, their main mount lugs are stronger and the side lugs for the shrouds are gone. I'm hoping all you would have to do is add a couple of bottom side lugs for the early model shrouds to bolt into?

Some history as best I can tell:
It looks like '89 to '99 were all the same.

There was a change in tank shape for the new frame then '00 to '03 were the same.

The '04 & '05 were the same, but they look identical to the '00-'03 to me in the parts drawings. Anyone know what the difference was?

The '06 was different again, but I suspect it was the same as '04-'05 with mount holes for a cooling fan.

I thought they were all black too but the bent one I've got is unpainted & doesn't look like it has had any paint stripped off. It's out of a '96 FE600.

hi bundybear, yes i did install a 2004 radiator in my 1994.
new one is bigger except from being silver.
you will need 1 pair of 20mm extensions for the 2 front mountings.
just a couple of pieces of steel with 2 holes of 6mm diameter and 20mm distance between them.
really not a big deal.

look up in ebay.de usually always a radiator is there for sale

My two cents;

The reason you see different part numbers from 03 on is because they went to the KTM numbering system.

And if you are ever in need of the little rubber mounting doo dads with the two studs on them, you can usually find them at a Mercedes dealer. Or, if you are really desperate, you can glue them back together with shoe goo.

Thank you kindly for that and for the lightning fast reply! If I find a cheap late model one I'll try to snavel it. :D

I woke up at 4 this morning and realised 2004 was about when KTM bought Husaberg. The pics in the manuals look identical, so chances they are the same part.

Thanks, but one of the crap radiators I have had good mounts still attached to it, so I have some spares.

If anyone did need new ones it might also be worth contacting Mackay Vibration Mounts. Not sure it they are just in Australia though.

Thanks to both of you. You gotta love this site and them what's on it (in a manly, non-sexual way of course!) :D :D :D

Keep your eye on e-bay Brad- I'm looking at parting out 2 02/03 bikes soon and both have good radiators in them.
