Hi fellow Husabergers!
Thanks to this site I pulled the trigger on this 97-78 (?) FE600E. I got it for two grand and she is in good shape with low miles. It also has some light work done to it…the best part isâ€â€

Nice one skinny..... welcome to the family! Cant really tell you much about road riding as i dont do any, but i do a fair bit of technical slow moving tracks on mine and she's fine with it. suppose it depends on your individual bike though.... bergs... one can be a sweety the next can be a pig!

The bikes are not really designed to be commutor bikes. If you are going to be running alot of asphalt you are going to want to invest in a cush hub if it does not already have one.
Aside from that.....welcome to the fold brother!!

Change the Oil more than you think it needs, check the valves as a frequent ritual, and follow Bergers advise and get the cush drive. You are one of the lucky ones, having a street legal berg in CA.

Jared

As already suggested, just change the oil every 5-7 engine hours or every 300 miles and check the valves every 1000 miles. If you were racing the bike then oil changes every 3 engine hours and more frequent valve checks would be recommended.

The cush drive would be good to have on the street but not absolutely necessary.

Enjoy.

I mention the cush hub because I have seen a number of KTM four stokes and Husaberg rear hubs break when used on asphault for longer than normal periods of time.

Congrat's also, there skinnyberg ! I've had my 06FE450e for 3 weeks now , and wish I would have got one sooner !!!

Wow, you guys are fast, so many replies!
Took the berg for a little ride tonight and she is sweet. I think I got a good deal :D feels tight and engines is strong.
The bike has been sitting for five years in a garage, so I like that; although, it ran me $300 bucks to have it gone through and flushed and looked over (money well spent I think) .
On my way home I stopped over at my friends graphics place "Dark Identity" and he made some templates for the 600 and will do a graphics kit for me :p I'll post some photos when I get-R-done. I know a lot of you are asking for kits, so now you can get them if you want...custom too!
On my ride I found that the forks are in need of some love--I think new springs, so off to Marzocchi to get some work done..maybe I'll luck out and get a newer set of forks from them...you never know!
Cush hub sounds good and I have thought about that when I got the bike--anyone want to trade?
I must say reading on this page has been so helpful--I tried the kick-start information I found on here and sure enough--the Berg started on the third or fourth kick---thanks guys
That's all for now and thanks for your input, please let me know more
Skinny

Hey stop right there!

You have a friend who makes decals and he made a template?

What is his price? For just shrouds for instance? Not just for the older design like yours but the newer 00-05 and the 06?

We need someone to make us templates.

Besides that, congratulations on your new bike and join the fun.

And indeed, suspension work is the most important upgrade for a bike, especially if it was sitting in a garage.

Le Frog,
Yep I got connections. Living in LA is like being at ground zero for everything cool 8)
I guess the graphics for begs run from 90-99 (like mine from what I hear and then it changes). So for the guys that have those years--he has your template made.
I guess he would need a bike to make templates for other years, but someone local would need to provide a bike...anyone interested?
There is a good Husaberg shop close to my house--maybe I could work with them to make it happen--but there has to be a demand for them...it does cost time and money. Dark Identity is up for making custom stuff but it will cost you, but it's not that bad considering.
Anyway I like this forum and will do what I can to help out, time willing!
I'll get some photos up hear next week (hopefully) and we can go from there, sound go to you?

Well, I already have the template made for the 00-05, I can send it :)

The $99 would be for the entire kit or just the shrouds? Could you find out?

Froggy,
I'm thinking Skinnyberg was referring to the model years 1990-99.

I know, which is why I am proposing to send the later template, so he can quote us a price.

for chrissakes froggy. just ask danger UK. i think it's lplates who has had a set made only this last week by them to his own design.

just look for dangeruk in a search.

regards

Taffy

Guess what... I will upload my template on this site. It's a BAT (Big @ss Tiff).

We can always go from there.

Froggy,
I talk to the guy at D-I and he is willing to do make you sticker stuff, but he said he will figure a price after he dose mine. If y'all are interested let me know.

QUESTION:
So what "cush hub" will work on the 1998 berg?

ALSO, my battery has drained and I would like to know if the bike recharges itself while riding or not. This way I'll know if I need to fix a short or not, Thanks!

BTW, I'm still Husaberg challanged

I will upload my template once I have purchased a new WiFi router (these things seem to crash and burn every year or so, unless you spend $300). I am interested in a shroud only and in a full-kit price.

What DPI does it have to be and does it need to be generated with Illustrator or Corel, or can we send it as a Tiff?
