Has anyone come up with an ingenious design that will help direct oil out of the drain hole, and into a receptacle? My landlord's girlfriend is into some sect of storebought environmentalism, and gets a little huffy when she sees an oil spot on the dirt driveway. I have been working with the finest materials available (genny cream ale can + razor) to try for a fool-proof design, but each time, my bash plate gets oil on it, and I hose it with some carb cleaner and make a mess on the driveway. I have to pull the motor to get to the plate mounts, so that puppy stays on for oil changes.
I've seen plastic clip-in models on line, but not for an older husaberg.
Anything work better than a cut beer can?

I have thought about this as well and tried to bend/melt a piece of plexi to fit but my skilz are of the computer type (at best) and failed.
I had also thought about a piece of hose with a fitting that would screw into the drain hole(s). When you tilt the bike over the oil would then flow into your catch can.

"Oil change helper"?

I thought this thread was going to be a tribute to our wives or girlfriends. Guess I was wrong.

Could be you fellows are sharpening the wrong end of the stick, instead of trying to drain the oil drip free, maybe just put down a couple layers of cardboard on the floor to catch and absorb any drips or spills.

Maybe so, but it would at least have to be official cardboard and have "Husaberg" on it.

You maybe can use some kitty litter I hear you like cats! :D Husaberg of course!

I would modify the attachment method.

I can remove my skid plate in 1 minute.

4 half pipe clamps, button head bolts and flat washers

Regards,

Joe

YES like THAT! Smart minds ... I suppose.

What parts did you use for that?

It's just an aluminum pneumatic fitting with the same thread.I don't remember where it came from but I dug it out of the "junk" drawer in the old tool box.I expect someone who deals in this sort of thing in Hfx would have them.I put a fuel injector o ring on it so it would seal with light finger pressure.I goobered it togther way back when for my EXC.It's the same set up.Oh yeah... for the hose part,I used a piece of hose  Sorry, couldn't help myself

Thanks,

All manufactures of soil compactors and the likes use coupling quick change systems for draining oil. Just an idea.
