can anyone direct me to either a post or a website which has info on luggage racks, aftermarket or homemade?

cheers

There was a thread on UHE perhaps two years ago about racks so it is probably worth searching the forums. Can't remember if anything came from it. I think it ended up discussing machined radiator guards as well.

Hi Frank,

Tim King runs a shop in New Mexico, and you can reach him here:

(505) 647-8333
2185 W Amador Ave
Las Cruces, NM

PM me for his last email address of record. I'm pretty sure it's still valid.

I'm not sure if he has any left. When I saw him in AZ, I thought someone said he was making another run of them.

I can get some pics of his fender racks once I get home if you're interested.

thanks,
json

Please post a pic. This may be what I need to make my trans america trail trip work. I have to carry enough fuel for 200 miles AND parts, clothes, camping stuff, lounge chair, icechest with beer, and maybe a stereo and tv/dvd combo

The rack Tim made me is great! This one is tapered at the seat, he also has one that is a bit larger. It bolts on to the seat and fender no extra hardware needed except maybe for a longer fender bolt.
(2nd pic) Here it is next to Jason's ride in AZ.
Plenty of room for tools in a MSR fanny pack, tire repair kit with CO/2 cartriages, 21" tube, bolt kit and lots more in a Moose Baja fender bag.

Will that fit 'bergs?

I have one of bergdaddy's custom racks. I'm going to beef it up so it'll hold more weight. Overall it's a nice rack.

I don't know if it will fit. It was designed to fit the new KTMs that have the same rear fender configuration as the Bergs. KTM still has a sub frame, though. and is bound to have different attachment points.

If you are really interested compare your berg with a late model KTM! or send them an e-mail and let us know!.

Regards,

Joe
