Sometimes the things that happen in real life are alot stranger than the stuff you see in the movies.
I went for a ride with some folks on the weekend and one of the guys had a brand new 450. We went for a short ride and returned to his house for cold beers and bench racing. He noted that his new machine had 0.9 hours on the hour meter.
There were quite a few people around and some I had never met before. They were all good friends of the guy with the 450 so I did not think much when one of them put on a helmet and jumped on the new machine. This was not just a guy...he was a 6'5"+ beast. Anyway, the guy gets the bike fired up, revs the snot out of it and dumps the clutch. One hand goes flying off the handlebars and he almost runs into the side of my truck but the guy hangs on and tears off down the road leaving a trench in the driveway. He shows up a few minutes later and parks the bike. No crash...no damage. When he takes his helmet off and stumbles towards us raving about how great the bike is....I realize that the guy is loaded out of his mind. He seems like he has been drinking for a week. He tells us how impressed he is because he never owned a dirtbike before and that it is way better than his quad!!!!
The owner of the new ride just laughed it off. Not much else he could do.
Can you imagine..... some drunken fool walking up a taking your brand new bike for a joy ride...and not killing himself or wrecking the bike!! Unbelievable. Real life is way more fun than the stuff they make up for television!!
