Sometimes the things that happen in real life are alot stranger than the stuff you see in the movies.

I went for a ride with some folks on the weekend and one of the guys had a brand new 450. We went for a short ride and returned to his house for cold beers and bench racing. He noted that his new machine had 0.9 hours on the hour meter.

There were quite a few people around and some I had never met before. They were all good friends of the guy with the 450 so I did not think much when one of them put on a helmet and jumped on the new machine. This was not just a guy...he was a 6'5"+ beast. Anyway, the guy gets the bike fired up, revs the snot out of it and dumps the clutch. One hand goes flying off the handlebars and he almost runs into the side of my truck but the guy hangs on and tears off down the road leaving a trench in the driveway. He shows up a few minutes later and parks the bike. No crash...no damage. When he takes his helmet off and stumbles towards us raving about how great the bike is....I realize that the guy is loaded out of his mind. He seems like he has been drinking for a week. He tells us how impressed he is because he never owned a dirtbike before and that it is way better than his quad!!!!

The owner of the new ride just laughed it off. Not much else he could do.

Can you imagine..... some drunken fool walking up a taking your brand new bike for a joy ride...and not killing himself or wrecking the bike!! Unbelievable. Real life is way more fun than the stuff they make up for television!!

coffin

could you print his name at the earliest opportunity please. UHE members wish to disassociate themselves from this wreckless behaviour and remind all responsible people that there is no room on a husaberg for people of this nature.

remember - proud to be gray! :( :(

you know it makes sense!

Agreed

2 clarification points.

1. Owner was not close enough to stop the guy before he took off.
2. Guy had just arrived and no one knew he was hammered.

Almost as funny as a scene I witnessed a year or so ago, middle aged "yuppie" type taking delivery of a brand new Ducatti (also bought a new helmet and leather jacket to match bike) talking to the sales staff about how "he used to race years back but stopped riding when his friend(s) started getting hurt/killed" Long story short, after spending his $20,000 on his new posed toy, he fires it up in the parking lot in front of the dealership (revving it up from "cold") looks around to make sure everyone is watching guns it, lets out the clutch and kills the bike, before we can even begin to laugh, he's back on the starter button, REALLY revs it up, drops the clutch makes it about 15 feet before hitting the fat part of the torque curve and some questionable pavement simotaineosly. As you can imagine, bike spits off rider, slides 40 feet over curb into street, thousands in damage to a zero miles bike, messed up helmet, jacket (and rider) Sort of like one of those M/C commercials "new bike 20 grand, new helmet and jacket $1500.00, dropping it on you first ride in front of your "trophy" girlfriend....PRICELESS!"

stopped by a buddy's apt complex to stuff some steel wool in my side pipes so my car would pass inspection, and while there, he pulls up on his new sportster. says "come up for a beer when you're done", and revs up the bike and lets out the clutch. his rear tire was in the grass and he thought it was on the concrete sidewalk, so he looks down to see why his bike isn't movong when the rear hits the walk. bike goes straght up in the air, he hangs on for dear life as it slams into the front of his own car parked about 30 feet down the road. bike wedged under the bumper as he bounced off the hood. 8O even he thought it was funny after a couple therapy beers.
