2008 Fe550 where do I go from here?
Balancer shaft not moving past a certain point.
Started with the water pump seal, replaced everything suggested by Taffy with his kit.
Then had the kick start issue (Thread '550 Kickstarter issues during reassembly' ) Did Taff’s suggested 1mm washer behind the plate and put the bike back together.
I have taken the lower half apart 4 times now. Drained and replaced fluids twice… every other time the electric start has worked, this time it won’t, sounds & looks stuck. Balancer shaft seems to not rotate past a certain point.
When I pulled off the outer clutch hub, the shaft spun rapidly as if it was under tension.
I have not had this problem the other 3 times I put the bike back together. What is my next step to figuring this out?
I miss my bike and it’s been in repair all summer. It would be nice to have a couple weeks of tearing up the roads before the summer is over.
