Hi av got a Fe 450 2005 was running but was bogy and bogging out after full throttle it was point to words value timing so a tryed to do value time using the 1/6 method not my greatest idea lol it will not start and will only backfire dose anyone know the right settings or know how to adjust it from taking the value cover of and doing it simler way

mmmm home emchanics first attempt!

OK
get the plug out
rocker inspection covers off
ignition cover off
get a 17mm socket on a T-bar and turn the flywheel. turn it till the inlets come up and close
that moment will see the bump on the flywheel at around 6 o clock.
turn it till the leading edge of the bump is at 9 o clock
the leading edge should be in a line between the middle of the crank and the bottom edge of the screw hole for the cover that is at 9 o clock.

if you look at the diagram for just the ignition flywheel position it will be right.

always try and 'morse' code the rocker arm. you should be able to hear the tick-tick of the tappets at the rear number plate JUST. no further. if 1/6th of a turn and you can't hear it then loosen off one of the two a little (get the right one) and try the trick again.
