For my 95 FE350 and 99 FC 501. I noticed these bikes do not have a lower chain roller. The parts book shows what looks like a wear pad in place of a roller, the book calls it frame protection. I can see on the frame where it would go, Anyone know if you can still get these? Taffy, your thoughts?

definately can't get them still. you want a piece of polyamide plastic. if you have an old front swingarm U-piece protection I'd cut some off, re-heat and mould it to what you want?

just an idea.

Taffy

We just made one a few weeks ago out of Delrin (a hard wearing plastic), I was going to make about 20 of them, they will last for a long time, these ones curve around the frame. Let me know if you want some.

unless you were building a museum piece, you don't want the original assy. i used to go thru one about everu two months.
(which reminds me.... the guy from beaver creek cycle in ohio never refunded my money for a returned one back in '99):-(

shipping would be more than it's value.
i forget whatever happened to that piece, can't believe anybody bought it.

Yes, that would be awesome! I am in the USA, but don't mind paying shipping as long as it isn't to crazy. Can you send me a photo?

thanks for the tips Taffy. I'll have a look and see what I can come up with.

Here is a picture of the piece I'm looking for. Have a buddy with a mint 99 FE600 that took his off to get me a pic of what it looks like. Should be able to make something pretty easily if i cant find one.

I have combined the two concepts, the strength from metal so it not collapse under heavy duty, rollers and delrin frictionplates for chainfriction.
My version is not good looking but has been a bulletproof concept for 8 years.
The rollers and frictionplates will last for a long time and are easy to make and replace when the time comes!
You can make it look nice if it is important to you.
