How often do you guys repack your mufflers?

Once a "Season"? After so many hours? When it seems to be getting loud? Or, just, whenever?

Thanks for any thoughts everyone! :D

yhe dep aftermarket pipe on my wr450 lasted 4 years and 4500km when i pulled it apart it was still good, i repacked it anyway. I think it depends on what type or rider you are if you rev your bike heaps and the muffler runs hotter(and exhaust gas is hotter) then you may need to do it more often than say me who rides woods mostly and doesn't flog my bike,
Just pull it apart and have a look if it's not burnt in the centre than whip it back together and keep going only gunna cost you some time and a few rivets!

I repacked my Akra @ 50h/3100km's. The packing wasn't burned, but it was pretty blackish and I wanted to protect my precious titanium shell on the Akra. Heard that if the packing gets burned badly, you burn easily a hole in the shell ruining the exhaust.

Hi,

I want to repack my K-620 muffler because it's seems to be loud. It's a 450 2006 with an update engine head, I don't know if it normal.
The pipe seems a bit different from the youtube video.
Do I need to drill the rivets from the engine side and pull the inside? I only see two layer between the side, they was a little bit of packing debris on the back side.

Thanks!

Daniel
