Engine numbers have never been completely figured out but based on the lower cast number of 220067 I would guess its a 2000 or close to that. Take some more pics of the engine and post them.

yes the ignition cover says 1999-2003.
the barrel says 1998-2000
as jampe says the 1999 to 2000 difference is the clutch being hydraulic or cable.
the difference between 1998 and 1999 is harder though!
1998 has yellow flourescent plastics mid blue frame
1999 has old yellow plastics and silver frame.
2000 has a blue frame
so now it is a 2000?
the 10th digit of the frame number will be a
X for 1999
Y for 2000
