Hi guys, there is a 2001 fx470 for sale and he wants $1700. Claims it’s been rebuilt and runs but has sat for a couple months and now needs the carbs cleaned?! Kind of questionable if you ask me! Looks clean but not a lot of info on history of ownership or documented rebuild. Sent a video of it running fro two months ago and claims is mechanically solid! Oh what to do when you want your first Berg!!!
Appreciate any input any and all have to help to buy or steer clear!

Read everything that was ever written about the 01 models and then don't buy it.

There are just too many issues that you will be challenged with.

The second generation models, 01-08, were great bikes but had too many issues until the 04 model.

Get an 04-08 model and be very happy.

Leave the 01's to those that are very experienced with these bikes, can pick them up for practically nothing and can rebuild them with mostly extra parts laying around.

The price difference between the 01-04 and 05-08 are pretty steep! There’s a 05 650 $4200 plus ship (Canada) or a 01 650 $2800 plus ship (us). Hopefully the right deal will come through.
I agree 05-08 is my target. I could pick up a parts bike 01/02 like this one plus a running 01/02 For the price of a later model(05-08). Would it be worth purchasing two older and upgrading failing parts?
Hopefully the Husaberg gods will send me the perfect bike soon..lol
Fingers crossed something will come my way!
