Hi guys,

Crank runout on the 570. I get 2.5thou. Does anyone know what the runout is on these? I couldn’t find it in the repair manual. Measured at the end of crank clutch side.

Ta.

Dunno about the berg, but the 576 ktm stroker cranks use to spread at the webs after a few hundred hours of motard track use.

The manual says to measure web width (63mm), so problem may still exist ?

Not sure of your problem, nor why you suspect the crank, but you can easily have good TIR, yet still have dynamic unbalance (vibration).

Send it, the rod, and piston to Phil Tainton, Crank Works, Crankshaft rebuilders or Saliba's automotive if you suspect dynamic unbalance to check (and if needed, rectify)

I’m suspecting the crank in particular but it is in the list of possible causes. I’m wondering how far out the key is on the KTM crank compared to the Berg. But the KTM runs the 19mm small end against the Berg at 20mm. Yet this crank has the Berg rod. It’s a possibility but highly unlikely they’ve assembled this KTM crank with a Berg rod.

Thanks mate.

KTM crank? The woodruff keys are at different position ktm vs husaberg.

Yes Jon, but that’s something I considered is creating the imbalance.

There looks to ba about 50-60* difference. Prob would a greater vibe with that sort difference, still I’m at the point where I need to consider everything.
