What will be left of that 0.5mm margin at extreme end play and flex? I know 1mm in total is quite alot but there will be some play in the balancer too, no?
But I guess the most extreme flex will not happen where they overlap anyway?
I have measured the play more careful now. When the crank is max to one side and the cb max to the other side, there will be 0,8-1,0 clearance. Shims are ordered! Tack för engagemanget, Jon!

The calculations behind the design of this cb and crank imbalances, can be viewed in this graph. The curves indicate how much the engine will move up/down (Y-axis) and to front/rear (X-axis). The curves inside the red circle is without CB and the green circle with CB. Let´s hope the improvement will be just as big IRL!

The new engine brackets are in place. Runned out of gas so the TIG-bonanza will have to wait!

I see that you did convert it to a 70 deg. I like that, best design ever ;)

coming up: Klein bottle fuel tank which is an air filter if you look in and a Swedish forest if you look out, the tank is also a lounge chair but there is a curse: you must find a small gray thing inside it and throw it away or you will have bad luck

Now cb and crank are shimmed axially. The minimum clearance cb to crank cheeks is 1,0mm. Now assembly of the complete engine!

Substantial difference. Well done.

The crank also needed another "imbalance" to work with the new cb. 11500gmm on the cb and 21010gmm on the crank. After having tried 3 different balance factors, I had machined 20mm holes already in the hardened crank cheeks. I had to fill the holes again, part from a 8,3mm hole straight through.

Next step is putting the engine together!

Well, I do tend to manufacture a lot of things that normal persons just buy, but this is getting ridiculous! No more fly wheel nuts in the workshop and time is running out! So now I'm even manufacturing M12x1,0LH flippin' nuts! This is ___!

Nuts & Bolts.
Will require some plumbing with exhaust and coolers. Maybe test start next weekend!

After some problems with coolant and oil leakages, the engine is finally test started! The vibrations are practically gone! What a difference! Smooth as "silk"! [emoji16]

Short version:
1. Crank met CB on the very first lap.
2. Highsider
3. Cracked a couple of ribs

Fury is bigger than pain. Will return with a root cause analysis.
