Battery wouldn't charge so I did preliminary tests with multi meter which indicated stator was grounding to earth.
I removed stator and found small metal debris pieces which had caused damaged to stator and to wire insulation. (photos attached) (Not sure whether to post in Electrical or Mechanical section)
I have ordered new stator but would like to work out where the metal pieces came from so I can fix that issue also. They look uniform in size, and have come from somewhere in engine internals.
Any help identifying the source of the pieces would be greatly appreciated.
