hi guys,

I am looking at buying a husaberg fe390, and wondering what parts availability is like in australia, due them being discontinued, I have read abit about them already and they seem to be pretty reliable bikes, am looking at just riding the trails with it and minimal on road only when getting to other tracks, any info would be appreciated

Hi Morgs,

Welcome mate.

There is no issue with parts. They are mostly KTM.

With that said, buy yourself some plastics to put away.

Don't disregard the 450.

Allan, thanks for that was just looking at the fe390 due to most reviews saying it a good beginer to pro bike, but good riders could probably do with some more power, as i have limited bike experience i thought the 390 would be more suited to me, is there much more of a difference between the 390 and 450, liked that most people said the 390 handles like a 250 but with a bit better range of power, but open to hear what other peoples thoughts are as there are a few 450 close also for sale
Thanks again
Morgs

I haven't met anyone who disliked any of the 390, 450, or 570 :)

All of them are quite controllable and linear. It can be seen as a balance between the bigger motor sapping a little more of the rider's energy and requiring more attention vs. the smaller bike being a little less flexible for instance on pavement.

In short you can't really go wrong with any of them.

For comparison, I have a DR-Z400 and I use it as an adventure bike / all-rounder / commuter / dirt bike. It's the same displacement as the 390, less power, 20kg heavier, worse brakes, fewer gears, and way worse suspension - and I still love it and it'll do anything I throw at it :)

Morgs, the FE450 is quite tame and manageable.

I'm not telling you to buy one, just don't disregard them. Best to take one for a test ride to know where your at. Quite often people buy the 'quieter' bike only to want a little more further down the track.

Thanks for that info had a look at a 390 today, was in pretty good condition bar a few things but only minor, there a 450 not to far away so may have a look at that also, hopefully soon i may be able to say i have bought one but thanks to those that have given some info for me to think about
