Hi,

I had a problem with my Husaberg 450fe 2006.
It stall like a closed gaz valve. I have the empresion something is starving the carburator. The bike start on the first kick start that morning. Everything was working fine until it die after 3 km. It start and then die every one Km. If I ride it slow it'll take more time to stall and then the performance drop until the bike is running at 5 km/h. Sometime I can keep it running but the engine is running ruff and then suddently come-back almost normal but will stall.
When running after a stall, the performance are there like nothing happen. When it working, I have a few backfire.
I opened the gaz cap, removed the air filter didn't change anything.

The engine head was rebuilt, carburator was rebuilt and have 12 hours since.

What should I look first?

I would drop the bung on the caby first or pull the carby float off, a bit of crap may of built up in their.

Ktm 450 and 525 seems to have problem with the spark plug cap the symptom look similar. Does Husaberg have the reputation to do the same? I'll replace it Tuesday before checking the carburator. I'm not good with carburator but I'll have to learn because the gazoline is crap in my area.

Check the spark plug cap is connected properly as it may be that. You said you took the gas cap off but did you ensure the breather is clear as it sounds like that is the problem. Also check all electrical connections and the kill switch wiring and button...sometimes works well when stopped but bumps when riding shake and cause a problem you can't find when bike still. Gas cap breather first check.

Hi!

Yes I ride without the gaz cap because I over fill my tank before à 100 km ride. Wasn't that and the breather is new.

The only thing that I found wrong was the gaz line touching the exhaust before the carburator. The gaz line moved in the transport by a strap and the problem start after that. I used a zip tie to pull it up. Don't know if it could be that.
Should I use something to isolate the line from the exhaust?

All connection seem fine and the coil, cap, wire and the spark plug are fine. I tried to check the ohm on the coil but I don't understand the instruction.

The bike work great and used to work perfect for 12-15h.

I let the bike run for 10-15 min and didn't stall. I think à new ride will tell if the gaz line was the problem.

Let me know your idea.

Thanks!

Dan

I did 2 rides and at the second ride the engine start again , after 30 minutes, to make backfire and the gaz respond start to be more crap and finally die. I let the bike cool down 10 minutes and start & run well for a 20 minutes.
I didn't make the valve adjustement since 15h, could it be this?

If you think it could be a valve - check them !!!before!!! you loose/break one....

Additionally I would check if there's a spark when the motor stalls... not that you've got a heat related ignition problem...

Your carburettor seems to be fine - otherwise the bike would run crappy the first 20 to 30min. as well.

just change all the valves and all the springs to DVSK. the amount of 450s that are fragging is worrying....

anyway, the valve clearances seem too tight.

either that or there is something electrical braking down.

Thanks for the info!

I'll change the spark plug, the cap and check the ignition coil again.
If someone can explain in a different way how to check the coil. White-blue to ground is from the white-blue pin on the coil?

The head is 100% rebuild with Taff's double spring and parts.
