Hello Yozzer. Just checking, you do realize that a chain cutting through your valve cover is a sign of a serious issue, right? Don`t think of running it till you have measured everything possible from the crank case up. You can check the length of the cam chain. Measure 20 taught links on your chain, then compare to a new one. More than 4 mm difference, about swap time anyway. Might just be a stuck tensioner. One hopes. L

01-03 covers fit. i've never found out if the 04-08 covers fit....should have looked by now I know!
suggest that it is welded while bolted down to the head.
it happens a lot. reason? as said above. try
tappet nut
ball bearing from the cam bearings
auto decomp stopper bolt and nut (snapped out of the cam sprocket)
chain breaking
1 and 3 are the common ones.
