I plugged in a headlight and it didn't work. Turns out I need the handlebar switch that plugs into the 6 pin connector. I don't need to be able to turn the light off and on. How can I wire the 6 pin connector so my light will light up and stay on once my bike is started?

As Cndbergfan noted, bridge the two pins in the six wire plug :)

I did the bridging of the pins like you show here but that only gets the small 5 watt bulb on my headlight to work. My headlight has a 35W bulb and then a tiny 5W (running light?) bulb. When I did your bridge method only the little one goes on.

What do I do to get the 35W on as well?

So I am guessing the daytime light is on, Find the color of the wire that goes to your headlight bulb and then find the same wire color at the plug and bridge the power to that one. If you want all your lights working correctly such as daytime, low beam and high beam, then you will require the switch.

You could also add a wire from the 5w bulb to the 35w bulb at the headlight, a simple wire from one to the other.
