My 1996 600

If anyone could please point me in the direction of manuals or thread for my 96' 600 that would be amazing! I got the bike when i was 16 and its been in storage the entire time i have owned it i have recently been able to take it out and have money saved up to service it up. If anyone can tell me if my 10w-50 oil is ok to put in it? the manual i have says 5w-50 to 15w-50. the bike ran when i put it in storage and dont want to mess it up now. Also a parts number for the filters too would be great!

Really Nice Job cleaning it up. You have a talent. I've got to stop looking at this Forum. I see a Husaberg and I want it. Seven Berg's later. I can't stop myself good thing the lack of money does......... I like how the fenders cover more of the wheels. After a mud ride on my 2011 berg I have as much mud on Me as bike does.

That is the best 1990 model I have seen. You did a fantastic job Rens. Is the bike street legal?

Hi Husabutt,
thanks, i am very proud and happy with the result :D
yep it's streetlegal, it got it's title on january 3 1991.
the last thing to do is to bring it back to life !!

Hi Webmonstro,
I got very lucky to find some new plasitc, but most of it I cleaned wich is a painstaking and time consuming job.

Grtz Rens

P.S. It's nearly impossible to find plastic for the early Husabergs

Hi Webmonstro,
First step is to scrape of the weathered layer from the plastic part , but very carefull.( scrachting )
second step is wetsanding the piece, with as fine as possible sandpaper.
thirth step is to get the gloss back with a heater gun, this also has to be done with exteme care!!!!
Forth and final step is wax it with carwax to give it the final touch.
Just 4 steps, but don't underestimate the time you need, just the frontfender took about 9 hours

Also check out YouTube there are many videos about this particular theme.
And in the pre2000 topic there are some now and then pictures.
Good luck Grtz Rens

1995 colorado 500 specail edition

this looks like the place for the older bikes, how is it going? I am down here in alabama with a 1995 colorado 500 se. hoping some one can shed some light non this beast. has a huge gas tank with a transfer pump, wiring for lights, ohlins all around. i have googled it but not much luck. the bike is complete ,need head light and tail light but other than that all there. As i have read these are pretty radical bikes, do they stand up to daily riding, or are they maintenance babies. ride mostly hondas and you dont have to do any thing to the jap bikes. any info would help, thank marc in bama
