Trying to install a fuel level sensor on my berg and ran into a problem removing the middle bolts of the subframe all other bolts came off easily. Noticed that the middle bolts are both connected and could remove the left side but not the right. Can anyone help?

Is the bolt turning around with the aluminium insert and that is why you can't loosen it? If so pry a spanner between the black frame and the tank on the left side (17mm if I remember right..?) and lock the alu insert. It has two straight edges you can use to lock it with.
 
Yeah, I tried using a spanner for the left side and a hex key for the right side. But every time I turn it starts to round the alu insert. No success as yet.

Never uploaded images on here before hopefully these work. So as soon as the spanner started to slip on the left hand side of the subframe I stopped.

Nope. Then the two bolts will stop each other.

Satori: If the two straight sides are ruined and any spanner will slip you could try with a wise grip. But then it will be ugly.
Or if you can't get a good grip you could try to screw in a bolt with a nut on it and try to lock it that way. Put a nut on bolt of correct size with enough length, screw it in with some threads still left. Tighten the nut against the alu insert. Now that bolt should hopefully hold more than the one stuck on the right side. You could also spray some WD40 or similar on the stuck bolt first to help with the friction.


Btw, did you find a proper metric spanner or did you use the medieval system with fractions of a thumb spanner? ;)

That's two great methods to try, hopefully a nut in the bolt will work otherwise I will try the visa grip. FYI I used a good old thumb spanner, probs wasn't a very good method. Thanks for all the help, I will post up how things go soon!
 
Owhh. Its like a pipe to the other side so u can hold it from the other side? Jon
Never looked at it so close.
