It came street legal when purchased new from a dealer in Southern Ca.
It also has the Ca. Compliant emission sticker. Which apparently is a determining factor.
I rode it around the block. I could feel that the motor revs up quicker than the 650.

I would love to find another 06-08 berg 550 or 650 to join the '11 that resides in the garage! In all reality, the next bike is either going to be a Honda crf50 (although the new CRF450RX looks waaaaaaaaaay too badass!) or a yamaha ttr50 for my daughter as a first bike. Nice looking bike, thats for sure.....a guy can dream, right?

Congrats! Looks nice for sure! Can you please tell us what it cost you? Currently I am looking at '08 Fe 550 but he wants $5500!!! It is very nice also with some extras. Currently I have '07 FS 550, just put knobbies on it. Just got my license and now getting insurance.

I bought mine from a friend of a friend.
And I paid $3000. I need to add some blinkers and off road equipment but am very happy
with the price.
$5500 seems steep. I would say a well set up plated 08 Fe550 should go somewhere in the 4s.

5500 for an 08? Dude must be high, that bike is in the 4k range all day long. Someone can pick up a plated 570 in the 5500 range.

Here's some of the things I have done to it so far. New front tire with Bridgestone ultra HD tube, rear one-off 1/4" aluminum disc guard, front disc guard, new wiring harness (came with the bike) , air filter, doubletake mirror, Boss Husaberg radiator guards, Brush guards.
Set the suspension clickers , preload and sag.
I set the valves yesterday. One each of exhaust and intake were 1/4 out. The others 1/6. Set all at 1/6.
There was no axial play in the intake rocker so set that.
Changed the oil, put in a stainless filter and Motorex 10/50.
Need to get the rear tire on there and I will take it for a ride.
