Hello all
I just got me a 1998 FE 400 E, and runs well but needs some work
Needs a batteey, front rim is cracked and some other small stuf
Slight bog on small throttle openning, but will need carb cleaning first

Need a side stand, mine is broken, can anyone tell me how long it should be so I can make one
Heres a pic

Thanks

if making one you definitely need to 'cut to suit' the bike. you have a great chance make what the factory didn't!

I have the same model and year. Looks like 17.5 inches from hinge to floor, and the hook for the spring is 10 inches or so from the floor. The angle of the picture skews it a little.

Ok thanks all for the responses
did build a sidestand but the monting point on the frame has been broken and welded and it's not allowing the right angle so i will have to grind off the weld and redo it , also the bracket itself seams very thin and fragil so i will reenforce it with thicker metal

I've been doing some small rids around town here's some vids :

In the mean time i will be replacing the piston rigns and WP seals

if you keep playing those two videos one after the other it looks like two brothers daring each other to start the bike first kick and then going back to the camera and saying: "bet you can't......"!

Last weekend

Hello All
last weekend went on a local "organized" ride nearby , there were about 100 participants on moto and quads , but most where 2 wheelers

I think i was on the oldest bike there , but my old berg held up great ! ;)

The track had allot of single track narrow stuff , so my bike was'nt the best in this situation , but after a ton of fall we got trought it

I really enjoyed that Video!

fall at 3.30
electric start at 3.50- you are now inducted into the Eric and Ned hall of fame for making 90s bergs start on the button after a fall! superb!

watch those tree roots...always take them at 90 degreees if you can! a lot of it looked like 'confidence and self belief'|!

that battered seat? we have nearly 100 seats coming! leoow on black, blue on black, yellow with decal (yours).

regards

Hi Taffy , thanks

I think easy starting is a bunch of small things put together , the last one was the intake manifold i got from you, the old one was leaking , leaning it out a bit , that and a lot of fiddling with the carb mix

As for the seat i think a cover would be enought , the seat itself is good
Also have the rear fender in bad shape

great video. felt like i was there.
my first estart save was on my '98 fe600e elduro on a steep hill in a race. when it stalled before the top, i was bummed and then i remembered the magic button. gotta love estart!

I have genuine front rims coming

seat covers coming although there are about three patterns so not sure if they are "blue Husaberg" or "yellow husaberg" or with semi-decal. sorry!

I have battery boxes coming.

regards
