Hi,

Im new to husaberg

I aquired a 2001 fe501e. It would seem it is only worth parting out. I need a new sprag clutch, ignition and and to re do the valves....

Where do you guys get parts?

I kinda dont want to waste too much money as I paid for a 'running' bike but it is not.

I takes a long process to start. Then once hot it seems impossible. Im guessing valves. Spark seems ok but ive read that the sem can be problematic.

The e start doesnt seem to throw in. Tried new battery.

Anyway thats me.

Hello.

Hi mate, I'm from Brisbane as well. Someone with in depth knowledge of that model should come along soon and give you some solid advice.

I guess it will come down to, how much you love the bike or just wanted a cheap ride whether it's worth fixing or parting

gday ninja ORANGEBERG in aust has heaps of parts for the older bikes see my signature for contact details .

also a few places to get an sem stator rewound; member sparks or zaga

there is heaps of info on getting better starting etc

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yeh im northside. I took it upto glass house on the weekend a couple weeks ago. Fresh fuel. Thing pulls hard. But my mate jumped on and stalled it after it had been running for about 20mins. Couldnt start it. 1 He broke the kick stand trying to kick start it.

It is over all pretty neat for its age. I will get some pics up soon.

welcome to the new "suckers" club! I say that tongue in cheek because I'm in the same boat down here in Melbourne. Got a 2002 Fe501e. Gradually sorting it out. Have a read of my thread in members intro.
