some dull pics fitted new bridgestone supermoto tyres today because my rear street tyre was worn out and had these laying around...I will test them on track soon and hope to get some more interesting action pics;)

A track bike, and something of a Frankenstein.
But kinda sexy.
After all, some women think that Sean Penn is sexy.
:D

Thanx I guess:p

7 september will be the test it's going to be a pretty big (for supermoto) track so it's geared to 15/43 so I will not over rev it on the straight...
I do suck at riding a sumo but I always have fun.
This is me on my 2005 gsxr 1000 8 days ago;)

ah yes makes sense with the 70° setup
A dude told me a "ktm factory" ported head with bigger valves/stuff would make a big difference in power but the price for the head alone is well... pricey and it does not even include the valves and stuff was just wondering ;)
There are (tuned) 450's making more power than my 570 on the same dyno ******* tuned kthusqvarna fs 450's are quick :p

Probably the "factory" head carries a price for the brand? I'm sure there's a way to get something similar if you go to someone small and effective.?

The stock head can only be used with stock valves don't know what differences bigger valves would make according to him a few extra pony's but not worth the money to me...
My head is already modified by fp engineering gaining some extra hp on top;)
at top my 570 is approx 7hp stronger compared to a stock one but below 6000rpm stock bike is faster (more torque ).
So I can only go in 2 directions for future or make it go even faster on top adding maybe tornado cam or fp throttlebody for better topend but than lose even more below 6000rpm.
Or change to 610 and get some of that lower rpm grunt back but first get some more hours on the bike only at 260 something hours for the moment
And the first thing I will invest in is a new center for my front brake disc it's getting VERY floating:p

It's a never ending story this bike:-"

Fun stuff!

I'd like to get into simulating these things to try to understand them better. Winter project some day ...

Do you have the stock throttle body? And I can't recall, did you open up the intake? Shrouds or seat?

The stock throttle body seems crazy small to me. I just went up from a 36mm CV carb on my DRZ to a 41mm CV carb - butterfly valve so it's kind of similar w.r.t. flow as a throttle body afaik. 41mm w/ butterfly feels just about right for a 396cc bike. I can't understand how a 42mm TB is enough for 565cc :O

Yes I have stock tb
And I cut the shrouds where they are under the seat maybe you can see in pics I posted before also I made a hole but covered it with mesh to get bigger debri out;)
It's a complicated mod that big crazy TB that's why I did not do it yet Changing throttle housing/cables/intake boot is al pretty ***** proof to change around but getting the injector from stock tb to fp tb and getting the airbox sealed properly around the bigger tb is a bit of a challenge for me...

I think there's an oil pump out of the 70-deg head that isn't on the KTMs

That pump is close to the other oil pump (one force and one suction).

If google is correct the head is based on the KTM 450 XC-W
500XC-Wengine.jpg

But I guess the oil channels differ as the extra oil liner/banjo bolt is missing?

thanks!, sorry, there's not an oil PUMP in the head but an oil line out! thanks for correcting! - and yes I'd think the oil channels were different. That said iirc the branch of oiling system that pulls oil out of the head is iirc mostly for long downhills when oil can collect in the head, not really normal operation. So maybe not needed for supermoto? But this is blatant speculation on my part and I can't source it. But I'll allow myself to present this as a hint for someone to dig deeper into if motivated.

Interesting keep it up guys

Hey HusaBelg, you're from Brugge? was just going through the whole thread, lovely bike of yours, where did you take it out? Franco gokart circuit?

There might be one bike looking like yours, in brussels....well, maybe not as pretty...but since you're very close (Belgium is pretty small..), I hope we'll meet someday! for a ride, a beer or a trackday!

I have half a million questions for you :))) !!
........like 'is it a PR16 on your handlebars? and if so, what model of racetech hand guards did you fit to leave enough room for the MC?'
...or 'where did you get the goldspeed from? had to order a set yesterday from NL :s'

Hope to read you soon anyways,
cheers,
Nico

I believe the handguards are the vertigo model and have plenty of room for the brake master cylinder.
(it's a brembo rcs 15 but it would be same with stock) but I used different handlebar clamps that fit nicely underneath the clutch master cyl (straight handlebar clamps always push on the clutch line/master cyl).

The tyres are actualy bridgestone supermoto slicks (never tryed them before.)
but I got them pretty cheap 165€/set they are a few years old but where still in original plastic packing...
I will test them out soon in clastres (france) and hope to ride on the mettet supermoto track coming winter maybe we could meet there I wil post here when I will go first day will be 7 september on clastres.

Never took the 570 to the franco track did take my old 650 there before it's nice but i prefer faster tracks+franco for me is just as far if not even further away than some of the tracks in france;)
