Hi Guys,

I bought a Husaberg FE501, year probably 2000. My problem is that in higher revolution the bike kills the front bulb. I guess the problem is higher voltage than needed. I would like to change the rectifier but I am not sure how to connect.

From the stator comes two yellow wire, and the rectifier has also two wires, one is black one is yellow, but in the wiring diagram of this modell shows that only one yellow cable from the stator should be connected to the yellow cable of the rectifier, but in this case what should I do with the additonal wire of the stator and the rectifier. Has anybody seen rectifier with two cables (one yellow and one black)? I have seen rectifier with only one yellow cable.
Thanks for the help.

A picture about the regulator is attached. The question would be that what should I do with the black wire of it?

I believe that the black wire is just a ground. The original Husaberg voltage regulator / rectifier uses the attachment bolt as a sort of ground and does not have the black wire.

Each yellow wire from the stator produces 70 watts of power. If you don't need more than 70W then just leave one wire disconnected. If you need more than 70W connect the two yellow wires together.

Hi

Husabutt is right, Yes the black is ground, so ground it. Some of those makes the ground through the bolt on the middle.
One regulator needs ground to discharge the excess of current, so don't forget to ground it or it won't do his job.

The yellows can be used as separated circuits or together, just remember to connect your lights to the circuit that has the regulator

Resurrecting old threads!
So does the yellow cable from the rectifier in the picture connect to one (or both) of the yellow cables from the stator? Or where does it connect?
