Hello,
I recently bought a 2002 year Husaberg FE 501 and when I pulled the clutch cover to check for the source of leaking oil I noticed that the cam chain had made small scratches into the block. It seems that the harder I push on the chain tensioner blade the closer it moves to the block. I also noticed that the engine is making a small metallic sound when idling so I suspect its from the chain hitting the block. Do i have to buy a new chain? I have attached a picture of the situation.

Yes, you need a new cam chain. You might as well replace the tensioner blade kith an updated one. Don't break the chain till you have the new one...attach the new to the old and pull it on

Do I have to remove the rocker arm cover to change the chain? I already have the clutch case open.

Yes you do have to open rocker arm cover.

Your cam chain got too stretched so it scrapes the block.

It looks like you may have removed the clutch. Do you have timing marks on the outer balancer gear and the primary gear? If not I hope you made timing marks on the clutch and gears as its the clutch gear that keeps the balancer and primary gear in time.

Here is how Ned Marked his:
