I'm extremely sad to tell you that earlier today Roland Öhrn passed away :-(
He truly was one of the most important people for all of us that love the 'Bergs and will be truly missed.
It feels like there is so much I want to write but I'm having trouble finding the right words...

Those are very sad news.

I have only ever seen the highest praise to the man. Obviously much loved.

I had the pleasure of meeting him at the 06 and 07 WEC rounds in Canada.

A gentleman in every sense.

Rest in peace Roland.

Very sad

Having owned five Husabergs I have a great deal of respect for Roland Ohrn. I still have a Wind/Husaberg ISDE jacket he had signed from a European ISDE.

RIP Roland Ohrn

Dan

Hi Jock_d

very sad news indeed.

prhaps you'd write a short obiruary on him in time? or copy and paste as I'm sure it will be done elsewhere anyway.

regards

Taffy

Sure I could try but not sure if I want to. I feel there should be someone more suited (in a lack of better word: worthy) for this. But trust me, if i find one from a more "official" place I'll fast as hell translate it!

For now here's a really good picture of the legend himself like I want to remember him, covered in dirt and with a big smile beneath the moustache :)
If memory serves me right it is from the 2001 catalogue or something like that...

I don't know what to say because I didn't know him, just his work which I appreciate with my limited but still growing understanding. I don't know what to say because I want to show only the utmost respect, but I know I can say that Roland Öhrn was obviously a great man and good soul. It's right there in the picture. You can see it.

+1! Godspeed Roland! May all the roads in the afterlife be twisty and smooth when paved; steep and rutted when made of dirt!

Does anybody know how old he was, what happened, family?. He wasn't that old. I did a search, even on Google.se, and nothing. Godspeed Roland.

Very sad. Only met him once but he still had time to chat for 5 minutes to this stranger (me) who had just walked into their husaberg world enduro camp to say hi the year we hosted a round.

Sorry to hear about Roland! He was a very committed and colorful character, who I had the privilege of meeting in 2001-2002 when I visited the factory.

RIP - Rest In 4-stroke Power!

Yes, Jocke, he was a great man and a great loss to his family and the enduro world. He has left his legacy and his impression on those who met and knew him, he'll be missed.....especially those of you close to him in Sweden. My regards to you.
